We specialize in planning, building, maintaining and expanding vegetable gardens. If you have some space and the desire to grow your own vegetables, we can help get you started. We also can help keep you going once your new vegetable garden is established.

Why doesn’t everybody grow their own vegetables?

The number one answer is probably “I don’t have enough time.”

Vegetable gardening actually creates time. It’s a strange, metaphysical thing, but by doing something so creative and productive, it’s like the space-time continuum is warped. You suddenly have more time to do things. It’s weird but true. The same is true for cooking—which happens to be the most compatible thing to gardening! The more you grow, the more you cook, the more time you have.

Starting a vegetable garden may also seem overwhelming or perhaps the fear of failure gets in the way (Fear not. In my experience, the best way to learn vegetable gardening is by killing lots of vegetables!) One of the beautiful things about a home kitchen garden is that it can start with one pot, box, container, or one little bed. Once you experience the satisfaction, joy and spirit of growing your own food, the starter garden is guaranteed to grow.

What we do

We offer vegetable garden services in Kingston, NY and the greater Hudson Valley area.

Planning and Design

Just getting your vegetable garden started? We can help you start the journey toward homegrown vegetables.

Bed Preparation

We build beautiful no-dig beds, raised beds, containers, poly-tunnels, and prepare the soil for healthy plants.

Planting and Propagating

We help manage the starting, timing, spacing and protection of the garden. These are the keys to keeping the garden full all season long.

Maintenance

Established gardens need lots of care and attention. Regular maintenance can be our task, so you get to do all the fun stuff.

Harvest Time

Knowing when to harvest and how to manage the abundance is so important. We make sure everything gets to the table or to storage at the peak time.

Cooking and Preserving

We know and love food and can help you enjoy your crops all season and into the winter! We offer help with storing, preserving, fermenting and freezing. (That’s hot sauce.)

Garden Structures

Most gardens benefit from stylish, useful structures such as compost bays, fences, tunnels, greenhouses, sheds, boxes and pathways. We love to build beautiful things around the garden.

Consulting and Teaching

Our ultimate goal is that this knowledge is passed on, so we want to teach people to do what we do. We offer private consultation, classes and workshops.
